For the moment, all residents should (unless specifically instructed otherwise) place recycling containers and wheeled residual waste bins in the same place as previously for collection. Some residents are being considered for the potential of receiving a front of property collection and these residents will be contacted via letter.
Not before further consultation. A report was undertaken to decide which properties were suitable for a wheeled residual waste bin and your property has been deemed suitable for wheeled bin use. Since roll-out of the new scheme there have been some streets identified where the use of wheelie bins may not be practicable and these particular areas are subject to a review.
Place the wheeled residual bin on the front drive area, or, if your property fronts directly onto the pavement, please place it as close to the property as not to cause an obstruction for passing pedestrians.
Various Highways Acts permit residents to place waste/recycling on the pavement for the day of collection. Residents will not be liable as long as residual bins and recycling containers are placed so that they are not causing unreasonable obstruction on the pavement area and are removed after collection.
