Questions on missed collections

If residents think there has been a genuine ‘missed collection’ they should wait until the start of the next day after scheduled collection to report it. At the moment, collections are still taking place late into the evening on scheduled days, so it is possible the collection is just later than planned. If residents feel a collection has genuinely been missed, they should call Torbay Council’s Customer First Call Centre to report it and leave the recycling and residual waste out for collection.

The new recycling and waste service uses two collections for each household. One truck, a traditionally designed waste collection lorry, collects residual waste, while the new green recycling trucks collect recycled material.


This means each house has two waste collections, one for recyclable waste and one for residual waste. If one set of waste bins hasn’t been collected yet, leave it out and all waste will be taken away later in the day.
