Questions on flats recycling

Unfortunately this is an error. All blocks of flats with 13 or more flats should not receive individual recycling containers. Arrangements will be made for these to be removed. Following this site assessment and agreement on the most appropriate arrangement for residual waste and recycling will be undertaken between TOR2 and Managing Agents for your flats.

Generally for residents living in flats where there are 12 properties or less, residents will use the new recycling containers and wheeled bins or (in some cases) communal residual waste bins. If you have no wheeled bin for residual waste but still have a communal bin then use this for residual waste. If you have individual wheeled bins for residual waste then use these. In both cases please use your individual recycling containers for all recycling.

Your recycling containers will be collected from the designated bin area.

Unfortunately, with all the changes to collection times and days there are some properties that may have been missed. Please contact Torbay Council’s Customer First Call Centre and ask them to record your property as having had a ‘missed collection’. This will get passed on and rectified as soon as possible.

In this instance, use the number of a property near to your residence on the same side of the street.

TOR2 is currently consulting with residents of flats to determine the best recycling system for each block. Where possible residents are moving to the new recycling service. Where this is not possible due to space constraints, residents will remain on their existing waste service and we will discuss with them how to implement a tailored recycling scheme.
