The services we provide include:
Mice and rats
Controlling rats and mice is a difficult business and requires professional attention. But you can help prevent infestations by taking a few simple precautions:
• Make sure your premises are in a good state of repair which will make it difficult for rats and mice to get into your property.
• Do not leave food around the house and garden.
• Remove potential nesting material from your garden e.g pipes or timber or overgrown vegetation.
If you do discover a mouse or rat infestation and want help removing it, TOR2 employs fully trained pest controllers who can help. They can assess the situation and if necessary lay bait along rat/mouse runs and re-check the area regularly.

Fleas
If you discover fleas, thoroughly clean the infested area by vacuuming the carpet and any soft furnishings. Remove any accumulations which may act as a breeding site.
Check your pets regularly for fleas, and if necessary treat them and/or fit a flea collar. If this does not work and you are still troubled by fleas, for a fee a TOR2 pest controller can spray the affected area.

Wasps and bees
Hazardous nests can be treated with insect powder from DIY stores or garden centres, but pesticide labels should always be read carefully. Nests are easily identified by wasps entering a hole in the ground or under the eaves of buildings. Around dusk is the best time to treat them.
Bees are much less aggressive but can seem quite alarming when they swarm in late spring, often due to overcrowding in their colony. Thousands of bees settle temporarily, hanging in a mass from a tree or lamppost for an hour or so while their scouts find new accommodation. If the swarm stays longer, TOR2 has a list of beekeepers who will remove the swarm for their own hives, free of charge.
TOR2 offers a service to remove wasps from domestic and commercial premises. For more information please contact the operational team on 01803 402909.
Ants
TOR2 offers a service to eradicate ants from domestic and commercial premises. For more information please contact the operational team on 01803 402909.
Bird proofing services
TOR2 offers a range of deterrent measures to stop gulls perching or nesting on ledges and roofs. These measures include 100mm mesh polyethylene netting for gulls and 50mm mesh for pigeons, orange day-glow strips and rows of taut parallel wires pinned above roof surfaces. There are point systems, sticky strips and wire baskets to guard chimneys and the gully behind, a favoured nesting site of gulls. Mini windmills and plastic hawks have also been used with limited success.
TOR2 offers a service to deter birds nesting or becoming a nuisance at domestic and commercial premises. For more information please contact the operational team on 01803 402909.
Bed Bugs
• Bed bugs are bloodsucking parasites of man and also feed on chickens, bats and some domestic animals
• A bed bug bite is painless. It is their saliva that can cause irritation, swelling and redness
• They feed at night or at any time if the room is dark
• They live in bedclothes, mattresses, bedsprings and frames, soft furnishing, cracks and crevices and under wallpaper
• A female lays between 200-500 eggs in her lifetime, on rough surfaces such as wood or paper. Eggs are white, sticky and about 1/3 inch long. They are laid in cracks or crevices, never on people
• A bed bug's entire life cycle can take between five weeks and four months, depending upon the temperature and availability of food
Because they are so small, bed bugs are hard to see. They do leave signs that they are present, such as black or brown spots of dried blood, eggs, egg-shells, and cast skins on the surfaces where the bugs rest.
A bedbug is unable to lay eggs until they have reached adulthood which is after five moults.
